Modern technologies in wireless communication from remotely distributed environmental sensors have opened up new avenues for data collection and remote monitoring. Global Mobile Communications (GSM) and satellite telephone services cover almost all parts of the world. It is feasible to place and collect data from remote sensors at locations which were previously inaccessible due to distance or extremely restrictive conditions.. Data collection through wireless devices is becoming more popular by the day. Insite takes advantage of these technologies with its Programmable Global Alert Monitoring System (PGAMS).
Insite Communications, a leader in the manufacture of wireless security equipment, has introduced "Insite".
Insite’s Programmable Global Alert Monitoring System (PGAMS) can be set up to monitor virtually anything, making it a versatile choice for any kind of work that benefits from GPS technology and/or relies on remotely retrieved data analysis. The system is easily adapted to a variety of tasks and can send wireless SMS text message updates and alerts directly to the user’s cell phone. Insite’s monitoring system can be used with a virtually endless list of applications. Anything that can be measured can be used with Insite.
Use it to monitor temperatures, weights, voltages, pressures, liquid levels, switch states – you name it. Because of the variety of data it can monitor, it is useful to a wide range of industries, from agriculture, to manufacturing, to construction, to the energy sector – even to food storage or data storage. For non-professional applications, the system can be used for personal protection in the home or office, as a notification device when the internal security system has been set off or the power goes out – even if the temperature fluctuates dramatically. Furthermore, it can be used to track moving vehicles, including boats or planes, and provide details on the vehicles’ whereabouts through Google Maps, including data on user assets and status.
In the marine environment, the possibilities seem endless. Some example usage could be yacht security, boat alarms, remote vessel surveillance and management, GSM/GPS yacht tracking, tender tags, marine security, boat and small craft security, biometric access systems, marine thermal imaging cameras, satellite linked crew safety devices and satellite yacht tracking installation services.
Additionally, gardiennage and yacht provisioning services, yacht charter security, yacht brokerage product location, luxury yacht maintenance, marine alarm systems, caretakers wireless security monitoring, insight GPS tracking, GPS yacht tracking equipment, nav tracker equipment, boat nanny marine watchmate services, marine security camera activation, vessel tracking & ship tracking recovery systems, marine security device activation, fleet monitoring and wireless boat security alarms seem like good candidates for Insite's rich features set.
At the heart of the system is the i2 base unit, that monitors voltages, temperatures, telemetry and switch states, and has an optional GPS receiver. Each device function can be programmed with up to four phone numbers, for a total of 92 phone numbers per unit plus 8 escalations numbers. The device also comes complete with six remote output channels, that can be adapted with optional extra sensors. The sensors include: an infrared motion sensor, a magnetic door sensor, a wind speed and storm sensor, and a flood and spill sensor. Sensors can also be purchased in bundles, specifically tailors to their application, i.e., for the home, or for tower lighting applications. The i2 is not reliant on land line networks.
